Podcast Delayed! :(

Hi BrewCrew. We are sure that you have noticed, but we wanted to confirm that our regular podcast is undergoing some changes. We are going to be releasing a Halloween episode, but wanted to just let everyone know that we are retooling and coming up with some new and fresh ideas. We want GB to be a fun and unique place for all gamers, and feel like we have lost sight of that a bit over the past few months. [...]

Graywalkers: Purgatory – A Brewer’s Spotlight

Graywalkers: Purgatory – A Brewer’s Spotlight

Imagine a combination of a number of your favorite games, set in a post apocalyptic world where Heaven, Hell and Earth have “ruptured” and merged into the same plane, and you have the beginnings of the in development game, Graywalkers: Purgatory. According to the developer (Dreamlords Digital), Graywalkers is heavily influenced by a number of games, including some of our favorites – Xcom, Fallout, and Civilization. Now, that seems like an odd combination of games to be stewing into one [...]

The Meridian Shard RPG – An Indie Kickstarter

The Meridian Shard RPG – An Indie Kickstarter

Brewcrew, how many of you out there remember spending countless hours playing really classic RPGs with amazing characters, set in fantastic worlds that left you always wanting more? Well, I know we here at the GB offices do. We recently came across the Kickstarter for a project titled “The Meridian Shard RPG”, created by game designer Justin Cuff.  Based on the early gameplay footage (it really does look early) and the description of the game, this could be a game [...]

Grand Theft Auto 5: Discussion Zone

Grand Theft Auto 5: Discussion Zone

If you are like us, you are probably enjoying the hell out of some Grand Theft Auto V as we speak. We have had some request to open up a discussion board for everyone to gather and talk about their adventures so far. What cool things have you been up to in Los Santos? Let us know here and now! Please keep story spoilers out of the discussion. We will open up a story discussion area later, so people can [...]

Dead Rising 3: 7 Facts in 7 Days Round Up

Dead Rising 3: 7 Facts in 7 Days Round Up

Oh, how the Dead Rising series has changed the way I look at shopping malls. Every time I visit the local mall I can’t help but get the urge to pick up the nearest wooden bench and start bashing the fuck out of people. As disturbing as that sounds, lets be honest. That would be amazing! It was just two weeks ago when we ranked Dead Rising 3 as our #3 game on our most anticipated games of holiday 2013 countdown. Even though Democracy [...]

Dead Rising 3: 7 Facts in 7 Days: Day 6

Dead Rising 3: 7 Facts in 7 Days: Day 6

#6. SmartGlass will give you the ability to receive special missions and listen in on mission calls with your actual phone. Like me, you probably cringe at the word SmartGlass. Every time a developer utters those words, I immediately want to turn away. In the case of Dead Rising 3 the SmartGlass feature is actually giving us some cool features. I’ll just go ahead and say the feature to call in airstrikes is annoying. This is the one SmartGlass feature [...]

Dead Rising 3: 7 Facts in 7 Days: Day 5

Dead Rising 3: 7 Facts in 7 Days: Day 5

#5. Dead Rising 3 will be bigger than Dead Rising 1 and 2 combined. Well, we know one thing. Dead Rising 3 is going to be huge. Did you ever find yourself getting lost in Dead Rising 1‘s shopping mall or even the large Vegas strip of Dead Rising 2? Well, plan to get lost again within Los Perdidos. According to Mike Jones and Josh Bridge, the world in Dead Rising 3 is going to be massive. Take the map [...]

Dead Rising 3: 7 Facts in 7 Days: Day 4

Dead Rising 3: 7 Facts in 7 Days: Day 4

#4. No more loading screens! If there is anything that I would have vanquished from the previous Dead Rising games, it would be the horrendously long loading screens. Not only were they long, they were frequent. The mall from the first game and the Vegas strip from the second game were broken up into multiple sections. Leave the safe house, loading screen. Leave the plaza, loading screen. Go out into the park, loading screen. Go back into the mall, loading [...]

Dead Rising 3: 7 Facts in 7 Days: Day 3

Dead Rising 3: 7 Facts in 7 Days: Day 3

#3. Dead Rising 3 will have 6-10 different endings. When it comes to the Dead Rising franchise, multiple endings are a staple of the series. Dead Rising 1 had six, Dead Rising 2: Case Zero had six and Dead Rising 2 had seven. So it’s only natural to bring multiple endings back with Dead Rising 3. The great thing about the multiple endings in the Dead Rising series is the secrecy of them. What a lot of games get wrong [...]

Dead Rising 3: 7 Facts in 7 Days: Day 2

Dead Rising 3: 7 Facts in 7 Days: Day 2

#2. Overtime mode is back! Series veterans will be familiar with overtime mode. Overtime mode takes place after the events of the 72 hour mode in both Dead Rising 1 and 2. Overtime mode wasn’t guaranteed though. The player had to complete certain objectives to progress into the mode. In Dead Rising 1, if Frank West didn’t make it back to the helicopter pad you would never see the overtime mode. Overtime mode takes place after the credits have completed. [...]
