Dead Rising 3: 7 Facts in 7 Days: Day 2
#2. Overtime mode is back!
Series veterans will be familiar with overtime mode. Overtime mode takes place after the events of the 72 hour mode in both Dead Rising 1 and 2. Overtime mode wasn’t guaranteed though. The player had to complete certain objectives to progress into the mode. In Dead Rising 1, if Frank West didn’t make it back to the helicopter pad you would never see the overtime mode. Overtime mode takes place after the credits have completed. At this point most people think that the game is over. Hell no! This shit is far from over. Overtime mode was far from skimpy too. Going from thinking the game is over, to getting a substantial overtime mode was very rewarding and exciting for those that thought the journey was over.
Overtime mode was there to serve as the truth. The truth and story lines would never really complete themselves within the initial campaign. Until the overtime mode had completed, you were somewhat lost or left with a cliff hanger. The cool part about overtime mode is the satisfaction of getting to the mode. Certain events and actions had to be completed to receive the bonus mode. So when you got there it felt amazing. Glad to see the mode is making a return for the third installment. Woot woot!
